Back in the early 90's I corresponded with my brother Steve (Tee) who was in the military during Desert Storm. I would draw cartoons and pictures to enclose with my letters to make him laugh and lift his spirits. During that time a local car club requested a drawing of a camel incorporated into a hot rod. I ended up drawing a camel that had wheels and an engine on its back. Little did I know that 14 years later my drawing would be included on a flag for the Ohio National Guard's 1487th Transportation Company. The "Iron Camels" mobilized in January 2004 and these men and women spent over a year in Iraq. I was very flattered to know these soldiers related to my drawing enough to use it as their symbol and give thanks for their service.
